997.2 C2S + Ferrari
997.2 C2S + Ferrari
Hi all. Just thought you'd be interested in some quick pics and initial impressions of going from a 997.2 C2S to a Ferrari 360.

As many of you may know...I'm a huge Porsche fan -- been through the 997.1 tt, 2010 GT3, 1987 911 Targa, etc.
The Ferrari really is something different. Not better IMO, just different.

Nice car Taylor . I wish you had mentioned a 360 last year because I knew of a car that was absolutely impeccable (4500 miles) and the woman who was selling it was doing so as a distress sale . I even suggested to her to keep the car but she couldn't .
Enjoy it.

Yeah, unfortunately there are many distress sales. Although my acquisition was not from a distress sale, the seller was very motivated. He just spent a 30% premium on his 458 and had a $25K sales tax bill to pay
If I was thinking better -- I knew of a sale on a 2007 GT3RS, 2,500 miles, $90K even (maybe $89 would have taken it). A distress sale based on a divorce.
I almost pulled the trigger on it to drive for a few months and then perhaps flip it for a couple grand profit.
I have always liked the 360 though now my brother sold his and bought a manual F430 brand new at MSRP in 2006, and we like the 430 better; as far as maintenance, the F430 is a leap forwards in affordability as he's not spent more than $1200 at any one time for either repairs or service on it. One thing you'll notice is that the 360 is a bit underpowered as its straight line performance is probably like a stock 997.1 Carrera S or perhaps a tad slower, if I recall correctly. The car is a lot of fun as one needs skills to really drive it and, as others have said, outright speed isn't everything.
It's great that you got a manual as there aren't many like that and that gated shifter is classic Ferrari! Also, you'll save some big bills is anything went wrong with the F1 system, though the 360's system is an improvement over the 355 in terms of expenses if anything were to break. About the only drawback to a 360 is that it needs belt services every 3 years and, if you go by the book, that Spring service is going to cost you several thousand dollars. But, taking this aside, the car is worth every penny and it's a thrill to drive... make sure to get an exhaust upgrade as this car really does need it for its sound's sake!
Enjoy in good health! Really nice car!

^^^^ Thanks for sharing the info. Indeed, the 430 is less to maintain and is certainly a big bump up in performance over the 360.
I realized not too long ago, there's something called, "fast enough". It was fun chasing the HP game though.
My 997.2S sits at about 400hp with my mods. I've not raced them head to head, but the Porsche would probably take my 360 at least from a roll to ~100mph. I'd think the 360 would pull from then on but I'm not sure.
BTW...I am selling my 997.2S -- I'll post in the FS section soon. I'm hoping she doesn't sell

congrats on the new ride
i will add a 360 at some point. I had a 430 spider for a couple of months and liked it but the 360 sounds even better. I agree with the fast enough statement. there will always be something faster out there but at certain point things like sound, feel, and character can be just as much fun as outright speed.
enjoy the new ride

Agreed plus the intrinsic "wow" factor!
