I'm new here. I've wrecked one 997S and you can ask me anything. More below.
Gary
oh.. i didn't ask a question (requested in the thread title) .. so I will ask a few ....
1) Why did you want us to ask questions ?
2) Did you think no one else had both cars ?
3) Did you want to post about the car you lost?
4) Do you miss your 997.1? If so does that sway impression of the 997.2 ?
5) Are you going to trade in your car for an older 997.1 if that unhappy with it ?
Larry,
Only u, only u! LOL
Jim
uberpainter,
There are others who share your belief that the 997.2 has lost some of its "edge" (for want of a better word) over the 997.1. when tracking.
I have not spent any time on the track with an 997.2 so I can't comment. But guys that i know that have tracked both cars have various opinions.
But I do know that many feel better having the DFI engine on the track for the long haul.
The recent article on the 911 in feb's Excellence magazine is an interesting read.

I was thinking boiled peanuts.
Perhaps you could utilize the quote feature so we know what post you're responding to.

..one look..question answered
So that's how this thing works. Thanks for the suggestion. It takes a few tries to get used to the format.
car tub is same on 07 and 09 as well as all suspension mount points and parts, as well as springs (imho but one can check catalog to make sure) so only difference is probably in shocks valving. if is there any difference there to begin with.
Wait, we can tell fishing stories here, too? This place is awesome!
any car drives and turns as good as it was tuned. i guess if '09 car feels worse than '07 car - it just needs an adjustment.

tires, camber, toe, adjustments, shocks valving, if one wants to get it all straighten up one only way is to surrender car to a good shop and make them adjust and balance it up. i am in love with my car after i got my suspension rebuilt and tuned and do not want to replace it with anything else and I am sure one who tries car like mine and then any stock car including how gt3 comes out from factory would be very dissapointed - but it means nothing as any car can be tuned to whatever standards owner wants to enforce.
