Wife thinks I'm carzy

And maybe I am, but a new car does not feel like “mine” until I wash it myself. So, despite being only 35 degrees (29 with wind chill, but whose keeping track?), I did a very quick wash today and took a few pics. Picked it up last weekend and today was the first day it did not rain – supposed to be dry the next few days as well. So it’s a 2010 C2S PDK with 3,500 miles, heated/vented seats, SC, Nav/PCM, and a few other options. Its nice to be ‘back” since selling the 993TT about five years ago. This will be a daily driver and I expect to get tons of enjoyment out of her.

Great looking car. Being that it's black and a daily driver, might be the first of many washes to come :)

Congrats on the new ride.

Beautiful! Black is my other favorite color! I am a little envious because I am on the fence about switching to a 2K9 PDK. Mind PM'ing me how much you paid for her?

MY WIFE LOVED THE "CARZY" REFERENCE.....

She said it pretty much described me and my car crap over the yearshilarioushilarious

Nice one! Was "CARZY" a Freudian slip, or intentional. hilarious

Loving it .. the carzyiness, your recent acquisition and your kind gesture: Giving her a nice bath.

Nice, congrats.

Occasionally I can come up with a decent pun - otherwise it would have looked like the new guy is an idiot!

Hahaha... if you're ever in North Georgia please let me know, I'll let you come over and wash mine so it can "feel like yours", then you'll have at least 2 P-Cars in your mind :)

Completely relate to everything you said....and so will my wife when I tell her that I am not Crazy....but rather I am "Carzy":D

Very nice!

Dude, I don't think you're crazy at all. Carzy, maybe, but that's not different than the rest of us. I agree with your perspective though - I don't even feel like I've really inspected a car closely until I've been able to detail it myself. That for sure makes me carzy too...

ChrisKaze Mar 15, 2011 10:26 PM

Ah...some people just dont get cars. I was the same way when I watched about 4 hours of youtube videos of autogeek detailing cars. I got so inspired that I went to buy a whole Meguiars set of cleaning products and detailed my car in 30 degree weather. Great looking car BTW, I always get lost looking into those LED eyes...

I guess that makes us crazy, crazier than Gnarles Barkley:

Crazy would be taking it to a car wash, sane is doing it yourself :) Congrats, it's a beauty!

Thanks guys! Yeah - black is tough to keep clean, but that 20 minutes a week that it is....fantastic! Seriously though, I need to learn how to properly detail a car - or at least do a decent job in between having it professionally done. Now with a black car, I REALLY need to learn - well - how to just not F it up. The car also came with a clear bra so need to read up on how to care for that as well. My Murci has a clear bra and I've been afraid to touch it with anything other than soap and water. I've spent some time in the Detail section of the forum and learning a bunch so this Spring I'll have to put this new found knowledge to the test.
