Do I go new or used? questions / opinions

There was a time when the used car pricing was incredible .Oct 2008 - March 2009 placed the 07 Turbo at 90K and a 1 year old (2007) 997S ranged from the upper 50's to low 60's .
Fast forward three years .. and those prices are nearly the same but the car is older .
Why ? CPO became the logical choice and the used market strengthened .
Since every day changes one can only look at today and if i had to buy a 997S or GtS Porsche TODAY .. I wouldn't .
The used prices are too high .
The new discounts aren't good enough .
Good cars are still in inventory but to find the ideal option config is getting harder and the best ones get less discounts.
A new GtS is just too expensive and not exclusive enough (only to be replaced by a 991 which costs less ).
So what is a deal (in my opinion) ?
The 08 Gt2 .
The 2011 Gt3RS ( costs as much as a 991 being used with CPO ) .
The 2010 Turbo PDK.
Those cars are not in the Op's budget.
Waiting costs nothing.

It's off the charts! You know something is up when someone with that many rep points gives you advice. Chances are, it's good.

I was in a similar dilemma. I decided to get a 2006 Carrera C2 as my "bridge car." I paid low $40K's for it, got a 4 year warranty, and I love it. This car should get me through the 3 years of waiting before I find a great deal on a used 991 S or Turbo.
