I recall when I did my latest change I had a warm engine and left it to drain for about 45 mins. I refilled 8.5 quarts. I would follow "myw" advise and drain a bit off.

did my 08" c4 last weekend. Easy. backed car up to where garage drops off to drive and was able to get to plug and filter easily with car remaining level. Used a u-joint type strap filter wrench. only hassle is the wait time to read oil level idiot light. Technology for technology's sake. Whatever was wrong with a dipstick.

Hoping someone can answer a quick question about the drain plug crush washer. What size is it if I want to get it from my local auto supply shop. The dealer is a long drive away.

Thanks. I have an '07 C2S. Looks like the same. While researching the part number, I came across this interesting video. Not sure what's up with this guy's voice.

Thanks for the write up

Did my first oil change today. I didn't even have to jack the car up. I guess being a small guy is not bad at all.
Thank you.

Does anyone with the magnetic drain plug noticed that it protrude out of the pan about 1/4" than OEM plug. I bought one them from Maxspeed long time ago for my old 996.
I'd bottom out on one of those high speed bump & it punched a hole thru the pan where the plug was. My pan was toasted & 9 qts gushing out in the parking lot. I went back to OEM plug. Just a heads up if anyone is getting one or got one.

I've got a 2006 997.1 4S Cab. What is the recommended oil change interval? My go-to shop is saying 6K miles/6 months. Thanks in advance!

The Porsche interval is 10K miles so 6K miles is nice and conservative. Decent enough interval.
