guys,

fund some interesting article on how to change(in fact replace) PCM/Chrono/Speedometer-tech-guage with this QNX(a mobile OS) powered Kit. Dont know the pricing yet, but looks cool. Want to share and get your thoughts on it....

Do you dich your PCM for this if it priced well?

Is this actually available for sale, or is it a prototype/concept? I wonder if it comes without the sport chrono part?

How is this different from Pioneer or Kenwood double-din navigation systems that offer blue tooth connectivity and voice controlled input?

I "like" the PCM part... I find the rest to be tacky.
My plan is to wait for apple to release a mini sized iPad (7" screen) and permanently install it on the PCM space. Do any updates/upgrades via WiFi without disconnecting the iPad from the car and use a bluetooth OBCII plug to connect to the iPad to display real time data.
Plus music, videos, bluetooth, GPS mapping, pictures, internet, email, pandora, news, TV, and even games... :)

I had thought about this as well... I think there's a Samsung device that may be the right size, and that would be easier to customize the software on than Apple's products.

Probably manufacturer's will go this way in the future... You would just plug in your device into the car you happen to be driving.

The screen looks to be an upgrade. I'd buy it to replace the PCM 2, but only if the price was competitive.

Everything in my household is heavy/apple centric, so to me a smaller iPad makes sense. Just need to fabricate a trim piece that holds it in place.
