Is this normal for PCCB's or do I have an problem?
Hi there
Had some new ceramic disc and pads just over a week ago. I drove the car for a good 100 miles, then I did some gentle braking to create some heat along with some more aggressive stops, so in total approx 250 miles of road driving on them. Yesterday I went to Donnington (track day), kept my sessions short, sub 20 minutes, warmed them up for 2-3 laps, and cooled them down for 2-3 laps. I also fitted GT3 brake ducts too and kept a very close eye on them. Something I've noticed before and after the track day is some banding on the passenger side front. I've seen this before on cars, but normally ceramic disc always tend to appear quite clean and having had to change a set of front outs needless to say I am a tad paranoid. Here is pictures of the front passenger side disc:- https://img842.imageshack.us/img842/5820/photo1jt.jpg https://img831.imageshack.us/img831/5604/photo2ya.jpg Drivers side front disc:- https://img402.imageshack.us/img402/6072/photo3qh.jpg As you can see the front drivers side has it far less and the rears have absolutely zero issues, but the rears are still on their original disc and pads. To the touch both disc are smooth and braking as Mike commented on is the smoothest he has felt and so so powerful with great feel. But I am concerned as to whether the effect on the passenger side disc is normal, should I be worried and why/what is it? Is it just the pads/disc still bedding in to each other, even if its nothing to worry about, would be good to know what it is? |
Maybe GT3 or Turbo guys are more familiar with these. Check with those boards?

It looks like the pads haven't fully seated. I recently saw a set of new rotors and pads with a similar look.
