Even though I miss the car....I have ZERO regrets to date about selling it!Freeing up the money has allowed me to venture down another road....

the Porsche is the family car on the weekends. I have two car seats in the back.
They know how special it is and love it.
Threesimple rules:
Don't touch the paint
Don't eat in it
Pack light

Don't get me wrong. My wife gives me an extra 20 minutes to park and I always try to have an eye on it. I look for the spots along curbs to limit the number of surrounding cars. I wash and wax it obsessively.

The car looks fantastic and has maybe two small scratches that nobody notices but me. But I wouldn't trade the smiles of those miles for either scratch.

Personally I don't believe in garage queens, drive and enjoy it. What good does it do just sitting there? With that said, if you enjoy it and makes you happy keep it - unless you cannot for financial reasons. Good luck with your decision!

Parting ways is tough, and when I sold my 993 I was concerned I may never get back into a 911, but here I am with another one.

If you lover it that much you can always replace it, right down to the aero kit.

Depreciating asset....?
How much did you pay for it 2 years ago? Car is probably worth low 50's, which is basically a ridiculous price given what they were selling for 3 years ago. Move on, nothing is forever and something else will strike your fancy, even if it is another 911 in a year!

Beautiful, cool night (for summer at least) in New Jersey. Took her out and had a blast of course). Simply nothing like it. I don't think I can pull the trigger on selling her for the time being. Crisis averted.

Good decision, it is not worth selling. Just keep it and enjoy the hell out of it. I am planning to keep mine until the wheels falls off. My son will have a very nice ride when he is old enough to drive.

DON'T SELL! If I had an extra 60k I would take her off of your hands. She looks like she would play nice with my SY 996TT.

Always trust your gut. If you don't need to sell it, then you won't. A family need will outweigh regret over selling a car if you really have to. I would recommend using it more though. The more you drive it the less you will worry about it. Once you start worrying less, you will appreciate this car more than just a piece of art. These cars run better, feel better, and you will be happier the more time it is used as a vehicle.

Drive it like you stole it!

I sold my 2007 C4S in January of 2011 for similar reasons and went into a funk until I bought my 2007 GT3 4 months later. All became good! I have logged 6,000 miles on it since I got it and I could not be happier. I would not discount selling it in the future, but only with the idea of getting into another one soon thereafter. Keep the car and get out there and enjoy it.

Sell the 997. Buy mint 993. Because of desireability and limited production (relative to 997 vehicles), the 993 won't depreciate further, actual values are now going up. You get the Porsche experience as a casual vehicle... a great car to look at with most of the modern conveniences. Less expensive to maintain. Insurance is less expensive, 97/98 vehicles are incredibly reliable. Just a thought. Have your cake and...
