about to pull the trigger on a CPO 997 C2S need advise

Hi all,

I'm about to pull the trigger on a CPO 2010 C2S and would like to get some insight from more knowledgeable people.
The dealer showed me the carfax and it shows that the car had 3 owners. The 1st owner sold the car back to the dealership at 50km, the 2nd owner was the dealership itself, then sold to the 3rd owner who drove the car for another 16,000km. I'm a little concerned or curious as why would someone sell a car back to the dealer at 50km? can a dealership be an owner of a vehicle?
On second note, I test drove the car and it seemed to run pretty good. Only 2 concerns here. 1) the car idled a bit rough but the tachometer sat very steady (no rpm fluctuation). 2) the brake pedal travel seemed very short, it felt kind of numb.
Seeing that I had never owned an 997 (owned a couple of Boxster Ss), I'm not sure if these are normal?

Thank you in advance for any insight.

Can't really answer you on why owner 1 didn't like/keep it...tons of possible reasons Could be that his daddy made him take it back. Like NorthVan said- ask the dealer. If you don't like their answer move on.

On the title side, I do have some expertise with US and UK. Not sure on Canada but generally follows British common law except Q. Anyway, the title has to be in somebod's name. Generally when imported, it is not yet registered so ther is no owner of record. Once the dealer sold it to O1, it went in for the registration and chain of title starts. Generally, the dealer can't take it back after the title has changed so they have to buy it back and they would become an owner of record.

Hope that helps. Anybody who knows Canada property and auto reg law can jump in to correct me.

That said, if you like the car, get a decent story from the dealer, check their reputation on web- ask for a CPO or walk...

Goodluck
