Huge thanks to Chris Sterling. You're the man!

If you're on the west coast and within driving distance of Irvine, CA then Chris Sterling at Sterling Autoworks is your guy for body work, interior work, suspension work..etc. I've had my C2S mostly in NY for the last 3 years or so and just happen to have the car temporarily in CA and it's so refreshing to meet a guy like Chris who simply gets it and makes things as painless as possible. No one else I've delt with on the east coast even comes close. I know quite a few members here have also had great experiences with Chris and now I understand why. Very reasonable prices and amazingly quick turnaround. I have no affiliation with Chris, just a satisfied customer trying to spread the word for a great Porsche guy(he owns a mean 996 turbo) that can help us with most of our needs.

Specifically for me, Chris put on a speedster front bumper for me, sorted all the electrics with some pin settings via PWIS. I feel like I have a new car hilarious also a photo of recently completed X51 air box + IPD competition plenum + X51 throttle body.

Hopefully these pics work.

I like it all. Can't decide if a plenum is in my future.

Can you feel any HP increase with the mods?

silver329 Oct 12, 2012 10:30 AM

The main reason I went through with the X51 air box install was because IPD released the new competition plenum that can be matched up with the X51/GT3 throttle body which eliminates the need for any adapter sleeve. Everything fits perfectly without any modifications. Performance wise the car feels peppier (I felt the same when I had the older IPD plenum installed. I didn't go into it thinking "this will add x more HP" but rather "how could it possibly hurt?") so it's the same feeling again with some added sound at the 5000+ rpm range. The full combination definitely adds SOMETHING, I just haven't quantified it and don't really plan to. Oh and it really puts a smile on your face every time you open up the rear hood!

+1 on the support for Chris Sterling.
I needed some scuffs and scratches fixed on my front bumper.

My car is 'paint to sample' (which I did not know as I am the second owner), but Chris did a fantastic job and at a very friendly price.

Highly recommended!

Another +1 for Chirs. He did my Gundo hack and will be doing many more things in the future. Most importantly just a great guy!

+1 Chris! We're going to have fun with the GT3!!!

For all you Chris fans, another example of going the extra mile for his customers....he met me at the dealer today to inspect the 08 GT3 that I was buying Private Party. Despite paying for a PPI, I really value Chris' expertise doing an extra "look see." BTW, he was also there when I sold BOB to make sure that everything went well with my Private Party sale to 911BOB!
