the PCM, the one with the phone keypad upper left

has anyone taken one of these apart? i am trying to take off the face so i can paint it with a little more ease than if i don't separate the face from the body, but it is a pretty good mystery so far... its always that first screw or tab to get started... thanks, kevin

hi, i have it out of the car on my workbench and would like to get it apart enough so that the face is separated from the bulk so i can refinish it in black, i have already done the lower 2 pieces and am quite pleased so far, can't do the volcano...anyway, i am stumped as to how this thing comes apart...i know it does though, it went together...

If I remember right, there's 3 screws on top, clips on side of pcm, them front can be removed. Then remove all visible screws to separate the faceplate.

hmmm, nooo, i have 2 of the small torx screws, but thats all and no clips except the ones you depress to get the unit out of the dash... i am always amazed at how the car manufacturers can put stuff together so clandestinely... that first screw or tab or panel that must be lifted to start the undressing train...

Try this link.

If you can't get it go to renntech and do a search for " sim card tray replacement ".

By clips I meant the tabs, you push them and then separate it.. then remove screws.
the above instructions explain it well.
