I felt the same. Always wanted one since I was a kit, always my dream car. Never got around to getting one and never really understood the love affair, but after that first drive I knew, and each drive after I one even more. I will always have some sort of Mustang, but now I know I will also always have a 911 too.

It wouldn't matter, I am not capable of keeping a car, no matter how much I try. I have given up even trying to say I am going to keep this one or that one, it would just be a lie.

C4S all day long. Shouldn't even be a debate assuming no damage - better car with more equipment plus CPO for same price? Where's the hangup?

It's done. Did the paperwork about an hour ago. It goes in tomorrow for the 40k service and then I pick her up and drop off the "old" one. Cost me $289 for tag transfer fee and that's it. I don't think I can go wrong with the choice. I see a GTS or a GT3 in my near future.

Sounds to me Daddyz911 that you do not take possession of the car ie pay sales taxes etc for the "short stay". I fail to see how you could get your 7-8K dollars tax payment back in a flip. Unless of course you live and are domiciled in Oregon. I need to learn your trick... Care to elaborate??

If he s trading back to the dealer, he only pays the tax difference in the two vehicles,, but if he flips to the public your question is a good one.
Or getting the cars at an unreal price??

Correct on both, only pay taxes on the difference between the two cars and I get incredible deals on the cars so I normally break even or make a few bucks. Not in it to make money though, just in it because I have a car sickness and can't help myself. Part of that addictive personality thing some people think I have.

Well, I am still not getting it. If you buy from a dealer and you sell to a dealer , he won't let you make a bunch of money as he needs to sell it to Joe Public. So where is the money there?. In Kalifornia, you won't be able to get your sales tax back in the flip. Of course if you have a dealer / business license , than it's a different matter . But in that case it is not YOU that holds the title either. Still I am missing a trick here. Comments??

Don't forget taxes. That's why I don't change cars that often. Even though I got a great deal at the time, if I sold it 2 months later I would still take a bad loss due to taxes and dealer low balling. The only two times I made a little money on cars I sold were a supra turbo and nsx.

What drives this behavior, the fact you have this buying privilege and like the attention it brings? I don't think of you as an automotive enthusiast. Where's the passion and pride in ownership? It's void. Hard to believe a Ferrari unimpressed you. The F40 is 25 years old and is still on another planet to most cars. Little else embodies so much emotion in an intangible object. Which Ferrari btw?

As I said in a previous post, an addictive personality. Buying privilege you say? Does that mean I have earned the right to do what I want, when I want, with my money, I earned, then yes, I guess it is buying privilege as you put it. A bad thing, I think not. When someone comes from a humble start and they work their A$$ off to earn the right to do what makes them happy, I say more power to them. If the money was given to me or not earned, then I would just call it spoiled. But coming from nothing and doing it all on my own, I have earned this right. The passion you ask? Plenty of passion, I want to experience as many cars as I can while I am alive. I could be killed tomorrow, anything could happen, so if I can do it, why shouldn't I? My time on this earth is limited, I suffer from multiple illness' and I am going to enjoy it while I am still able. Pride in ownership? I take great pride in every car I own and have owned and the knowledge that I earned every single one of them without the help of anyone. The fact that you don't consider me to be an "automotive enthusiast" is your right, you may think anything you would like, I happen to disagree entirely, but this is what makes the world go round, different strokes for different folks, as the saying goes. The attention it brings, it brings very little, I am very humble and private about what I have and what I do in the "real world" something this Forum is not and allows me to share from the privacy of my life. No one here knows me so I am free to talk about cars and the things I love. There is no showing off going on here, no bragging, just talk, questions, sharing, help and answers, is this not what these Forums are for? The fact that a Ferrari did not impress me should mean nothing. Some like them, some do not, pretty simple. I am sure that many people are not impressed with a 911, that would shock you too I assume?

Okay! I believe everyone has been somewhat civilized so far. We should take a deep breath and relax.

Else, everyone will force me to start the butter and popcorn

Popcorn is good but try to cutback on the butter, clogs the arteries.
