So what would you do?
I purchased my first Porsche last week, a base 911 with only a couple of options. it is a 2011 with 13k miles and got a great price as I am very good Friends with the people that own the Dealer. At the time, they knew they had another 11 coming in but it was a c4s loaded to the gills but had 38k miles. The mileage scared me a bit but now after all the research I know it shouldn't bother me at all as long as it was maintained and had all service done, which it did. I can buy this car for the exact same price as I did the base 911 with basically no options. This new one would be CPO and had a sticker of about $122k originally, so I am getting a much better equipped car with just about every option available and a C4S to boot for the exact same price but has about 25k more miles on it. They are also going to do the 40k service before I take it.

I know that no one on this Forum knows me yet, but just a brief history. I am a car freak and buy a new car every month or less and sometimes more then one at a time. I just got rid of a Ferrari that did not impress me at all. I am a big Mustang fan and have had multiple 13' Shelby's this year as well as other Shelby's and all the "Tuner" Mustangs out there. I have had 13 different Mustangs since June of this year. So, regardless, I would bet the current car would last 2-3 months tops before "upgrading" to a different 911, so the questions I guess really is, should the mileage bother me at all, and with the higher mileage, even though the price is incredible, should I be concerned about trying to get rid of it in 3-6 months?
Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide. I am new to the P car, but now that I have had one and "get it" I will ALWAYS have one in my garage. it is a truly amazing car and I am in love, even with a base model, low optioned car, it just offers the best driving experience I have had out of any car I have owned, and in the last 26 years I have been driving we are talking about 65+ cars.

if you really change cars like i change underwear, does it even matter in the end? why so much thought into a car you're only going to keep for a few months? personally, i would go with the c4s.
The only question I had was if the 911 would be a daily driver and I think you basically answered that with your personal description. If it is not a DD, then I say go with the CPO C4S all day long for the same price. One question: Is the C4S at least a 2009 or newer? I am assuming so with my advice. If not, then I might say it's more of a push. The engine change in 2009 (997.2) gives you a bit more grunt than the previous 997.1 models. I would probably still go with the C4S even if it is a 997.1, but it would give me pause if I already had a 997.2 C2.

It certainly is not a question of which car I will enjoy more.
I can see how it might sound strange to you, but it is all about who you know. I happen to know the "right" people when it comes to cars and this particular C4S because of the mileage was a hard sell and the Dealer was able to buy it for literally less then half of what it cost 10 months ago to the buyer.

I am always more then happy to make the intro, save someone some money and get them more deals. My Salesman there is also a very good Friend and they will bend over backwards for anyone I send. If interested, just shoot me a PM with your number and I will call you and give you everything you need and make the introduction for you.

Just to confused you further, you understand that a Porsche 99X is a totally different animal compared to your cubic-inch-rides, correct? I'll be interested to know your post transition from "muscle cars" to Porsches.
This is an easy one for me then. The C4S. I am all about low mileage cars, my 2006 C2 only has 26K miles but I would gladly take a higher mileage C4S...
But, I also prefer 2 wheel drive so my next car is the GT3... Hopefully soon!

They are both 2011's, so clearly the C4S is a much better buy for me, but my concern is, will it also be a better buy for the next person when I go to sell it. I am paying WAY below book for it, WAY below book for a base 911 and literally the same price I paid for my base 911. Since I like to get in and out of cars so quickly the mileage is my concern and how it will make others think when I go to sell it, or if I will be "stuck" with it. I 9 out of 10 times make money on all my cars when I move them, and with the base 911 I know I can make money selling it, this one, with the mileage, I am concerned people would just shy away from it.

The car is '11 with 38 K miles. So it's maybe 2 yrs old tops. That's a lot of depreciation in a very short time frame, add to that we have no info as to accident damage and I'm thing the car is only worth what the OP paid for it. As he's going to try and turn it for a profit in the not to distant future, say ASAP, he's concerned he might get stuck with it.

As for history, carfax is clean, it is a CPO, which I realize doesn't mean much, but if it were involved in any kind of bad accident they should catch that, and the car appears to be very clean and accident free. I can normally pick out any paint work from a mile away, as can the owner of the Dealer. So I do not believe it to have any "bad" history and I have all service records and receipts to go with it.
I understand the difference 100% between the cars. This is not my first "Sports Car" and have had all types of cars, fast, slow, nice, ratty, etc., this is a totally different breed of car and in my first post in this thread I stated that I now "get it" when it comes to why people love their 911's so much and that I will always have one moving forward. I appreciate all kinds of cars, both new and old for what they are. My "Muscle Cars" are just that, and after many mods handle very well and in the hands of the right driver (not me) have taken GT3's, Lambo's etc, but what they don't offer someone like me, with my driving skills, while not bad, they are not incredible, is that feeling the 911 gives an average or slightly above average driver, the feeling of being a Rock Star driver. That is how my current 911 has made me feel, it is amazing, simply incredible car to drive. My Wife said the same thing the first time she drove it, and while she likes cars, she certainly does not appreciate them as I do.
Good to know that. FYI, I moved to Porsches decades ago. At first in my mind I said "what's the big deal about Porsches". Only after 3 weeks of driving did I fully realize the night and day difference!!!
I got rid of my other vehicles and I wouldn't even tell you how many P-cars I currently have.
