Looking at the key chain thread, is there an alarm interface that would allow us to have a remote that has a separate lock and unlock buttons? We wont use the buttons on the keys anymore but rather the buttons on the remote. This also preserves the condition of the original key. Any ideas brothers?

 

Pretty much any aftermarket alarm would allow you to do that, the installer would have to do some hacking on the wires, but that's it. (P-cars Alarms have a single wire for lock/unlock). The most common one I've seen out there is the Viper ones (More specifics the viper 5902).

 

was hopint there was a product similar to those programmable remote controllers for home security or the ones similar to the home entertainment systems wherein the controller just needs to lear the signal and thats it, another remote to control the system.
