Exterior rear view "triangle" adjustment?

Hello Gents,

I am trying to sort out a few nagging little niggles with my 2005 C2. One is the alignment of the driver's side "triangle" trim piece on the outside of the car where the side mirror joins the car. I don't know what this piece is called, unfortunately. Equally unfortunate is the fact that this piece doesn't line up the way it should; the "top" of the triangle is tilted too far aft. Does anyone know how this piece is adjusted, and is it DIY for a non-mechanic with some basic tools and very little skill?

Thank you!

Pete

I am very ham-fisted with photos, sorry! I think the triangle might be an integral part of the rear view mirror assembly.

It is an integral piece but separate from the mirror itself. Did this just occur? Did you buy the car that way? Seems like someone wacked it hard enough to move the entire assembly.

Go onto MaCarbon's Website and download their side view mirror installation instructions. Disassemble the "triangular" attachments, realign them, and reassemble the pieces. I did it to correct a whistling sound around that area. This may correct your problem. Relatively easy to do.

Thanks Guys - I will try the MACarbon route and see if I can realign it that way.
