Newly-Acquired 2010 C2! Multiple Q's re: Electronis

After a long hiatus, I'm back! I picked up a 2010 CPO C2 with only 8600 miles and I'm loving it!

I have a number of questions:
  1. Is there a FAQ for where to tap the V1 hardwire install?
  2. I have PCM 3.0 with the "Universal Audio" input. I have tried plugging an iPhone into the USB cable; it doesn't work. If I buy the "iPod" cable, will this put the iPod titles/browsing on the PCM GUI?
  3. When checking my PCM system version it just says "V". How can I determine the latest software version?
  4. Holy crap are the map updates really $400? Yikes!!

Regarding the Map updates I would get them done like every 5 years, in most of my cars I do so every 2-3 years but those cost $79. I have a 2010 also, if I would have know I would have made the dealer update it prior to me buying it. Oh well, it has served its purpose so far.

1-V1 multiple ways and DYIs available search the forum. IN brief, two ways to hardwire with a wire splitter or soldering into the dome/reading lights. Or a nice tread can be found to guide wire around the seal of the window around A pillar into the diagnostic port in the left footwell where you can put the savvy
2- Yes, I have the cable and yes it works fully
3- Not sure, I have the same thing a "V"
4- If anyone knows of a different cheaper way let me know:)

Yes on this. Go back to the dealer and get your cable. Should have come with the car.

Make sure it's the updated ipod cable that plugs into both the Ipod / USB port. or it won't charge newer ipods / iphones.
