235/40-19's for smoother ride?

Hi All,

While I love the taught and planted feel of my C2's 35 and 30 profile fronts and rears, respectively, I suffer from the harshness exhibited over broken pavement. The fact of the matter is that the roads around me are SO bad that I am in jeopardy of losing a filling or two each morning on my way to work. I thought about "downsizing" to 18" wheels and tires but like the look of the 19 inchers. Soooooo.... I am now thinking about going up a little bit in sidewall height - to 235/40-19 in front and 295/35-19 in the rear. The thinking is that jst a little more sidewall thickness might take some sharpness out of the ride but not compromise performance that much. There is a small difference, of course, in overall diameter, which would affect the speedo somewhat (3% I am guessing). Are there any mechanical concerns which might rule this prospect out? Has anyone done this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Pete

even if they fit I don t think you are going to get any noticeable results... Dropping to 18 s would be the best idea for your situation. As you know these cars do not ride like BMWs etc .

Thanks Gents! Well, I might have a go at it, next tire change. I'll post the results!
