Random Porsche Questions - all about the 'lectronics
I bought my car used about 6 months ago and thought I'd post these random questions (after lurking to get answers to other common questions) to see if they get answered by fellow board members.
Any reason to use PASM Sport w/o Sport Mode? Sport mode automatically turns on PASM Sport, but are there situations where you only want PASM Sport without the sport throttle response and aggressive PSM? Does my car have Hill Assist? Is hill assist an option that I may not have? How can I tell if I do? I've always used the parking brake method. Once I tried a hill pull out without the p-brake, but my car rolled back. Speed Limit Warnings Is the limit set by the steering stalk (up front computer display) independent or linked to the PCM limits? The PCM defines up to 3 different speed limits, however, I was able to change a limit in the up front computer and it didn't change any of the PCM limits. That means I have 4(!) limit warnings. Wow, I only need 2- "72mph - You are past safety for speeding tickets" and "125mph - Congrats! Level complete." I really enjoy driving the car, but these questions persist in my OCD mind at the moment. |

AFAIK 997.1: no hill assist.. 997.2: hill assist Speed Limit Warnings Is the limit set by the steering stalk (up front computer display) independent or linked to the PCM limits? Not sure.. but i never understood the need for even one speed limit indicator.. let alone 3 or 4. ;) I really enjoy driving the car, but these questions persist in my OCD mind at the moment. |
