Bilstein's pss9
 

N e one know when they are expected to come out?? Considering techarts...but u guys think its worth the wait for the bilsteins??

Neil I think it was Buddy that had KW's on his car and Cort Wagner hated them. The V3's I believe... I'm not overly keen on those:( Prefer PSS9s for the street and then Motons for the track personally...

Alex when they are set up correctly they are very good.we are using them on one of our race cars.

I have had PSS9's on my 997 for about three months...My car was originally equipped for PASM but the PSS9 offering for PASM is not available yet. Frankly, I’m not sure if I’ll make the switch back as the old school PSS9 setup works fine. I do like the idea of corner balancing the car and knowing how it's going to react & feel every time. Additionally, I have an adjustable sway bar setup on the car which definitely improves the body roll situation but causes some concern on the effectiveness of going back to PASM. We know that PASM gets its inputs from sensors that detect body roll right? So what happens when we restrict body roll? Do we leave the damping in a “fixed” state? Is it better to let the body roll some then tighten things up? Doesn’t that kind of go against everything in a race car setup? In any event I’m not completely sure and like the fact that I can go back to PASM if that truly is the setup that works best...I think we might find PASM to be a controversial “chicken or egg” subject…I will say this, I have personally driven A PASM equipped car very hard on a race track with stock springs and it handled great; then why change things? The gain of adjustable ride height, the ability to manually preset/adjust damping and the ability to corner balance. If you just want that cleaner lower look and own a PASM car that might find its way to an occasional DE but spends most of its time on the highway…buy the lowering springs, have the car aligned, leave the stock sway bars in and be done with it; it will still do great on the track. If you find yourself wanting to try a different setup; you can’t go wrong with the company that makes the OEM strut to begin with…if you had PSS9’s on your 993 or 996 it will feel exactly the same. There aren’t any mechanical differences in the installation when installing the non PASM PSS9’s on a PASM car and the only side effect is the brief presentation of "PASM FAILURE" warning in the cluster every time you start the car. There is a way to make that go away in programming…essentially you tell the car that it has “dampers with fixed settings” via the PST3.

The only negative thing I could say is that I would have liked some additional spring rate options for my PSS9’s and wish that they were sold as complete bolt on units (you transfer some OEM parts to complete the strut assembly)...like Cross offers.

FWIW, there are technical drawings of the PASM PSS9 offering in the installation booklet so I'm sure that version will be available soon…

This is about as low as I can go without it being a total pain on the street...the PSS9's do adjust lower.

are those Euro or US spec? i know the Euro is out for awhile but i've contact my supplier many times & i've been told they don't have it yet because Bilstein USA doesn't even have a part number for it.
