Red face Porsche 997 Licence plate LED question

Hi everyone,

I've got a question that some of you might be able to answer before I give it a try anyway. I'm looking to change my licence plate bulbs to LED's and have found Porsche do a genuine part 1K8 943 021C that should fit the 997.
Has anyone tried this part? I'm assuming it might give a bulb out warning possibly and if so is there any way that you can "code" it out? Does the 997 have cold diagnostics on startup that can be disabled just for the licence plate bulbs like on VW? I'm not looking for an aftermarket LED solution so if I can't make the Porsche LED lights work I'll give the idea a miss.

If it makes any difference I've got a 997.2 c4s. Thanks in advance.

LEDs require much less power than the stock bulbs which will cause an error sign to appear. Most likely, you will have to install a resistor so that the LEDs get the correct power and prevent the error message from appearing

Have aftermarket led license and tails. No error on locense plate. After side marker install error but disappeared after.
