Anybody else having cab top rubber stripping coming off?

I have an '09 C2S Cab. I just noticed over the folding joint above the door the rubber stripping is pulling off. You can see it in the picture. Luckily the car is still under warranty and I'll be taking it in.

The overall condition of my top is so bad and from my perspective unacceptable for a 100k car. Marks, abrasions, creases, etc. Now starting to have this kind of problem.

What will it take to get them to step up and put a new top in?

Jason

Marks, abrasions, creases are just part of driving a cabrio with a fabric top, regardless of price. The rubber in the photo is just slightly dislodged and can probably be slipped back into place. Overall, IMO stop fretting over these little issues, and enjoy the car.

Your 911 is 4 years old at this point, and these minor things happen to any car after a few years, especially a convertible.

Mine is an 06', use my top generally 2x day and its a daily driver. Have not had any issues with mine, yours doesnt look like its a big deal...unless of course it leaks.

Plastic pieces on the sides of the roof are held on by a coupe of screws. My guess is one of them loosened up and the rubber molding moved out of place. Not sure how the rubber is attached but dealer can fix or replace the individual plastic side piece.

I don't agree that all the creases etc are part of owning a cab. I have owned several fabric tops from other makes including BMW and not one had any issues. None of these much cheaper makes seem to have issues with creasing, rubbing etc.

It's so annoying as my roof is creased and the car has only done 20K miles plus some of the rubbers are very worn.

It's part of owning a Porsche 997 Cab and is a function of the size of the top and the space it needs to fold into. 997 top is quite large considering the cars size and the size and shape of the space the top needs to fold into. As all other convertible tops fold into the cars trunk area, using a portion of it, it's not hard to understand why the top in a Porsche 911 takes more of a beating when it's stowed away.
