Clear Bra or Repaint?
Clear Bra or Repaint?
I have been contemplating getting clear bra on my 2010 C2. However there is already a 5 inch scuff mark on the front bumper (only visible under the sun at a certain angle) as well as a few rock chips already.
Do you think its worth spending $1000 on clear bra or should I wait for my bumper to get worse before just repainting the whole thing?

just did mine, bumper repaint was $500.00, custom cut clear bra was $475.00
if you clear bra over defects they will annoy you forever and pretty soon you'll wish you had spent the extra 500

Experiment with Dr ColorChip. See the results and see if you are satisfied. Then get the clear bra.
Else, pro repaint then clearbra.

I don't believe a respray would devalue the car as long as it was not an accident. Just take pictures before painting to document that the bumper had no damage, just normal rock chips. Most cars suffer from rock chips. Not a big deal.
+1. if they are on the plastic body parts (ie front bumper) +3m on top i cant see if having any effect on overall value. now if 1/4 panels, hoods, fenders/doors were resprayed i would start asking questions.
Its for $1000 for the typical partial coverage ($699) with upgrade to full hood. Thats normal right?
Even painting the hood shouldn't be a big deal. Just take pictures and document that it was just a respray, to "refresh" the front end. I rather buy a Porsche that was resprayed for rock chips than buying one with a bunch.
Does anyone know of any good places in SoCal that does decent porsche bumpers?
