X Pipe Install

Anyone done this on their own. It's a 997.1. Do I need to remove bumper?

no need to remove the bumper, a 30 minute job if you pre soak the nuts

On the 07 997.1 it looks a little cramped. Had it on a lift yesterday and the mechanics all proposed bumper removal. If there is a certain trick or technique to removing the factory mid pipe please let me know.

Ok then it's possible. I'm lucky to have a lift.

Hopefully yours fits, we had to cut about 3" off each end of mine to get it to fit. Went pretty good after that though.

depending on the brand, some tweaking is needed. mine is a non motorsports x pipe with 200 cell cats. it comes with an adaptive flange

I found that removing the rear bumper made the job a lot easier and ensured that I could properly access all of the fittings and fitments so I could be certain of a proper fit. And removing the rear bumper is pretty trivial.
I'd recommend you go that route.
