My dealer also charges about $1300 for brakes. Parts alone are expensive. if you replace everything (which the dealer will typically do)... you're probably looking at $800 in parts alone. (going by the prices from suncoast)
brake pads $213
rotors $360
vibration dampers $100
spring kit $46
brake light sensor $70

You can get away with not replacing everything. But it just wouldn't be up to Porsche's standards for maintenance. You typically just need new rotors / pads / sensors. I find the sensors hard to save.... the plastic clips keep breaking.

Indy shop I use in Atlanta quoted me $800 per axle for brake pads and rotor replacement. Clutch around $1800.

Rotors, pins, sensors, dampers, pads, and an oil change ran me around $1200 from Indy here in Atlanta.

Has anyone replaced their clutch DIY yet?

Waiting for that too! It's supposed to be the same as a 996 but I rather wait for DIY Specific to a 997.

Which Indy shop are you using in ATL area? Ant suggestions or recommendations?

Sean Freed at Freed Performance. I highly rcommend him. He also replaced a broken frunk latch, seat belt, and installed the Sharkwerks bypass pipes.

Thanks, I know Sean and have used him in the past, he runs a good shop.

Sean runs a tight shop. He's a great guy to talk to and a great resource. I enjoy going by his shop just see what he's working on.

Finally got a decent quote for $695 and a $110 brake flush from a local indy. Thanks for the help everyone!

Too Much Money for Brakes...

Brakes on a P-car are simple and straightforward (easier than on my Lexus). The worst part is the flush. If you can handle any DIY at all, you can save a ton of money. I would change out pads for each track day going from street pads to track pads. I could normally do it in about 40 minutes, including the time to pull off the street wheels, change out the pads and put track wheels back on. Faster if I was in a hurry.

Changing stock drilled rotors is 1 screw if I remember correctly.

With a Motiv power bleeder, you can flush your system in about 30-45 minutes.

Take the sensors and tie them back out of the way. They only come on when worn through and you should be looking at your brakes not relying on a sensor.

Much better to buy from sponsors...

This post is the exact reason why I DIY and only buy cars that I can work on.... It looks like standard dealer BS trying to rape the OP.
