My 06 C2S bone stock factory Aero is off the market. I made the decision to sell her because she does a lot of sitting in my garage (16k miles) and, with 3 kids, I stare at her with a smile more than I drive her. Frankly the sensible side hit me, where I was thinking it was aging (although she's mint and new for all intents and purposes) and might as well move on.

Screw it. I love the ride and decided to freshen her up a bit. I just ordered dectane rear lights and am going to hop on the new OZ Leggera HLT's (not a typo for ultraleggera's) in 20's when they're available early spring. I even got her out for a leg stretch yesterday. I'm excited!!!

Thanks to all you 6Speeders for the support and input over the years. I'm excited to spend many more together in the future.

She should look a bit different in the near future :)

She look good like it is...love the OEM Aerokit Cup.

However, front/rear LEDs and wheels will make her more interesting...like lingerie on women ;)

Agree 100% (on all counts).

Thanks to all for the kind words. I'm excited to freshen things up a bit. I'll be sure to post pics with the new lights and wheels as I install everything.

Beautiful car and fantastic wheel choice for it. Good call on the Dectanes, I did that on my 2006 and most people thought the car was brand-spanking new. They look great and perform very well. Easy plug and play. BTW, the resistor pack sticks nicely out of the way at the back of the light cavity just where the wire bundle comes through the body, right beside it facing outwards (on the side towards the front of the car). The instructions I had weren't very useful for knowing where to place it.

I may have to adjust my target obn wheels... I have been considering the 20" Ultraleggera but the subtle changes I see in the Leggera makes it look even sharper! I love the finish... it appears to be only finish available for now (right?) but it is the one I would choose anyway. I also noticed they made it easier to clean by rounding out where the spokes join the rim a bit, one of the few worries I had about the Ultraleggeras.

Please post photos when you get them on there.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm really excited about the Dectanes. That said, I thought the resistor was only required for 997 turbo models... Did the instructions indicate otherwise?

I only see the Leggera's available in 19" for the C2S at present but know a 20" is available in general per the OZ site. I'm hoping they make the 20" fitment but the 19" will be my go-to if they don't vs. looking to another wheel. I agree regarding the styling, color et al. Really awesome.

I'm pretty certain all 997.1s require the resistor pack so that the CANBUS system detects the full expected load. There is no real concern on your part though since the light comes with the resistors it needs. On the Dectane website, you can see the black box resistor pack along with the red piece of double-sided sticky tape laying at the back of the light or the rotating image here: https://www.dectane.de/product_info....87&language=en. And yes, the instructions do call for it.

I don't immediately see where they list the available offsets/widths. I think you'll still look great with 19"s if those are the only fit... your ride and handling will even stay better.

I stare at mine all the time. I don't think that it makes me a bad person.

What wheels / size are you rolling on? They're beauties!

gsxr_fvr Feb 4, 2014 08:54 AM

Gorgeous car and great call on keeping it, my search for a 997 w/ factory Aero has been on for over a year now & unfortunately I havent seen a single come up for sale here in Canada. I am avoiding temptation to just settle for a C2S.

Every morning I walk past my car through the garage to work and get into my F250 HOG, I smile knowing that the PCar is there waiting for me to pay attention to her sooner or later.

I love modding the car and making it personal for myself, without getting to over the top. Getting new rims made me feel like I have a new car again!! Good luck on your mods.
