Brakes Skipping when applying pressure over bumps?
Brakes Skipping when applying pressure over bumps?
Sometimes when I'm breaking over a bump or uneven road, my break "skips" almost like its the rudder on Wheel of Fortune. This happens at low speeds. It feels unstable and unsafe.
Is this normal and does anyone else have this experience?

I think I know what you mean, If I do it's normal, breaking over uneven road or bumps does not bring out the best of brakes no matter what the car. Thats why I always brake when I see smooth road infront of me If I can.
When the tire momentarily loses traction over the bump (at the extreme going airborne), the engaged brake causes it to slow much more quickly than normal and the antilock system kicks in. What you feel is the typical result of the antilock system modulating the brake on the wheel to keep it spinning at a more proper rate. This is much more pronounced on our cars since the stiff suspension and short sidewalls cause a lot more wheel hop over bumps than a nice cushy thick tire and suspension on a normal car.
It is a actually a good thing, without it the engaged brake could cause the wheel to come to a full stop while skipping and you'd lose much more control.

this.
i have aftermarket suspension with heavy springs. i have track pads 24/7 and on track days also have track rubber...you can imagine how much mine kicks in while braking on the oh so wonderful streets of the DC suburbs.
