Supercharger Install
the new unit has a drain hose capped underneath the car you let out the oil and two brass plugs on top (a dip stick and a vent) where you can refill it. takes 4 oz and needs to be done at 2500 and then every 7500. 808c2s or someone else may know but the older unit may have run off the engines supply idk.
Who are you using for the custom tune? VF or another outfit?
The local shop doing all the work. They have a tight relationship with VF. Upgrading the air temp intake sensor as well.
Ah, I see. Yeah, I need to upgrade my intake sensor as well. You got the V3 version kit? VF said that the intake sensor should have been upgraded?
I have the older version, so the upgrade is needed.
11. don't attempt unless you are really skilled and have tons of time. a specialty shop who has done it before quoted me 30 mechanic hours. I would also go with a shop who is experienced and not the cheapest. I went with the dealership who was $1000 cheaper but they did so-so work and I had to go back to the more expensive shop to trouble shoot.
Stacey has a DIY thread on his supercharger install, you might want to try the search feature.
So I finally got the 4.0L engine built, put on 1000 break-in miles, and dyno tune for 92 octane. Ended up at 411hp/342tq at the wheels. Drives very smoothly around town; feels like a cannon shot on boost. Surprised by the very strong acceleration in 6th at highway speeds.

- Did you go with the VF SC?
- Who did your engine rebuild?
- What compression ratio did you go with?
- Manual or Auto?
- At low RPM (under 3000 rpm) does it feel the same as before, more sluggish, or stronger?
Awesome!!!
- Did you go with the VF SC? Yes.
- Who did your engine rebuild? Max RPM Motorsports in Bremerton, WA
- What compression ratio did you go with? IDK exactly. I'm thinking mid 8 range ?
- Manual or Auto? Manual.
