Questions on battery life

Hey guys,

My 2006 C2S was at the body shop for about 3 weeks for a bodykit and MK2 conversion. When I got it back yesterday it cranks slowly but managed to start. I took a spirit drive last night and it seems to be much better now.

The battery is dated "Feb 13 2012), so about 2.5 years old. I bought the car about a year ago, drive it as DD about 50% of the time (but very short trip between home and office), and I take it out for a stretch about every 1-2 weeks.

Was the sluggish cranking caused by having slept for 3 weeks at the workshop? If so, would driving it spiritually for a few days re-charge the battery to an optimal state?

Or should I just get it replaced?

Thanks.

Likely because it sat for three weeks. Put it on a trickle charger until fully charged and then evaluate. Chances are it will be fine. If it cranks slowly after charging, pull it out and have it tested for free at an auto parts store. Do not close the hood with the battery removed - the hood latch requires power.

It could also be the Alternator Starter cable. I replaced mine and it cured the slow starting for me.

Here a link for DIY. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ml#post3427155

Keep it on a charger when not in use(ie Ctek). You are not driving it enough. This is not about replacing it or the cable. Do a search on chargers
