PASM shoks on non PSAM car?

PASM shoks on non PSAM car?
Hi guys,
can anyone tell me if it's possible to use PASM shocks without the entire PASM system?
If i leave the shocks unplugged, will they simply be in permanent "normal" mode or does the system need to be plugged in to he pump all the time?
