I have the GT2 tail on my C2S and thought about doing something similar. I am running a stock paper filter in the stock airbox for now. Had a BMC filter on it and could not tell the difference. Went back to paper element because they do have really good airflow and I am in a really dusty environment.
On a second note my car has been resleeved to a 4.0 by LN. Fabspeed exhaust. High flow cats and ECU flash. W/Tiptronic. Lowering springs. It was fast before but I just put on the IPD Plenum and GT3 throttle body Dec 26. WOW big difference. If I get the car rolling and then stab the throttle now it totally breaks the rear tires loose. I have 295 PS2s on it. It would not do that before. I have to be really careful now. Lol
Would totally recommend IPD and the GT3 tb especially with my setup.

2007 C2S with X51 intake, GT3 TB, and Maxspeed plenum...no CEL, no ECU tuned. Car has a smoother pickup from 3k to WOT.

I am running the stock carrera air box for the C2S.
The LN Nickies 4.0 with 101mm J&E pistons, 160F low temp thermostat. NO Check Engine Lights at all. Even after I just first installed the GT3 TB and Plenum. I did the swap the day after Christmas in my garage. Only took about 1/2 hour to do. I shot a video of the swap. Will post it on youtube in the next week or so after I catch up at work. No special tools needed. I used a torque wrench to make sure I had the throttle body on perfectly. I called IPD the day after Christmas and the owner picked up the phone and answered my torque questions. Good service. I Did not remove the stock throttle body from the stock plenum. Just removed it as one unit. I would have had to go buy a special star socket to separate them.
I go from dead stop and it spools up to WOT in a half a second now. No lag at all after I added the GT3 82mm throttle body and IPD Plenum (this is the new Competition IPD Plenum with the dimples on the inside). It was a combination of all the modifications together. I shot some video of 0-60 pulls from inside and outside the car before the throttle body and plenum. I will get some more 0-60 shots now that it is completed. You will be amazed at the difference. Puts a smile on my face.

Yes, I have the stock airbox with the intake on it sealed to the deck lid. Both left and right scoops on the GT2 wing are open and feeding. The trunk lid also has two lower knockouts that mate up with a turbo intake setup which I don't have. Those are sealed. Probably have plenty of fresh air reaching the filter. lol

Install that GT3 throttle body and IPD Plenum. Even without an ECU flash. You will notice. Your computer will adjust with a couple hard pulls. Before I even did the hard pulls, it seemed like it idled smoother. On a skill level of 1-10 it was about a 3 to install.
It is almost harder to change the air filter on this car. lol

Here is the view from inside with the lid open. You can see where the intake for the GT2 are supposed to be. Upper left and right indents. Now that would be a killer intake setup. I upgraded the tail lights to LED also a couple months ago.
