Porsche Rotor Replacement - C4S (Addt'l Info)
1 Attachment(s)
I read a few DIY's out there to determine how to replace the rotor. The 4 that I read require the bleeding and/or the removal of the hard brake line from the Caliper.
My brake fluid was changed about a little over a year ago and I did not want to introduce air into the system so I had to find a way. Not sure if this is known by the majority, but for those who don't know (or could not find it on the net like me), you don't have to remove the hard brake line. After unplugging the brake wire, just unscrew the 2 retaining nut/bolt and carefully swing out the caliper into the desired position. Carefully swing the caliper by finding the correct angle or spot. Lastly, instead of using hanger wires, I use speaker wires. IMO, they bend better than hanger wires, flexible enough like twine/rope, and rubberized to not scratch the finish/red paint of the caliper. :) Enjoy! |
Instead of disconnecting the bracket, I still wonder if they was a quick way to disconnect the 'flexible brake line' from the bracket. I could not see using my low powered flashlight and mirror. :)
Let me know if there is a quicker way to swing out the caliper. |
Excellent guidance! Thanks for the hints. +1
