997 aero - what's the verdict - I still am not sold on it - you guys ?

Generally I like the aerokit, except for the rear wing - it's just too much. I like the rest of it though. Are those add-on side and rear skirts? There are other aftermarket options that are as nice and probably cost less. I've seen it at a local dealer in white and silver, and liked it on both.

i actually like it without the aerokit... odd. with the aerokit the side looks naked without a side skirt. the rear bumper looks naked too with a heavy looking wing on top. the car just doesn't look balanced. i wish the aero II will look better on 997 but that's few years down the road...
this is certainly the last best thing.

I feel the opposite, i know this is just my opinion, but i think a stock carrera looks terrible without the aero kit. It just makes the car look to round and weak without. The aerokit looks so aggressive i love it. Somehow without, it looks to much like a bug to me.

geees, i never thought i'd hear a comment that a wing is "too big" on this forum
anyway, i saw a red one in person on saturday. i'm not sure if the silver is just too plain on this car or what, but it looked pretty good in the flesh on a guards red.
it does need some side skirts to even it out some though.

Why will it only look good on a GT3?
If it looks good, it looks good period. GT3 is based on that car as well except for the engine, brakes, and the suspension etc otherwise is the same body style.
Sounds like you guys like it only because of its power thats why you think of the shape is ok and if the power isn't there like the GT3 then is not ok. And then some of you will say "O because that is functional on a GT3." So does that mean it isn't functional on this car?
Just like on the other thread where the 996 cab with a GT3 badge. Seriously i don't think that car look bad AT ALL except for the GT3 badge otherwise all you 996 guys are driving THE SAME THING if not more or less. That car have a GT3 kit on a cab and i think it is pretty nice. Though the badge part is really gay but the words you guys use to describe it is just not acceptable. Is like saying that your very own 996 is gross!?!?
No flames intended for ANYONE but think about it.
