The Michelin Pilots that came on my '09 were very quiet until the rears wore out. Then the interior noise got very noticeable. I replaced them with Bridgestones and they are also very quiet. However I expect they too will start to induce some interior noise as they wear down.

PS2 are quiet enough for me. I have went through a few sets of PS2 and I never notice any significant noise increase as the tire wear. In other words, when I put on new PS2 last summer the noise level has not changed noticeably

continental dws. I replaced the loud rough Michelin PS2 with the conti's and couldn't be happier.

How are RE050A's in terms of noise, ride quality and performance? I think I'm going to get RE-11's for max performance but the RE050A's are also an option...

X2 as long as you don t want a summer high performance tire.

I replaced my tires with Michelin PSS's and they are a very nice tire.

My Michelin PSS are reaching close to 15K miles and the noise is now very loud from the rear.

I am thinking about insulating the rear of the car, as I really do not like this rumbling from the worn out PSS. They were very nice and comfortable when new, but that did not last too long.

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 is the best tire that I've used on my 997 and on my 996. This includes ride quality, handling and noise. I haven't found a tire that I like better, and I've tried many.

The Pirelli P-Zero is the worst in terms of noise, in my opinion.

I agree with you completely. I love the drone sound it does when it is worn out: it feels like being in a propeller airplane! The sound is actually more pleasant than the sound of my worn out Pilot Super Sport.

Only problem with the PS2 is the cost.... really too high for the duration of the tires.

Go for new tires instead Yves. Yours are talking to you and you should listen to them not shut them up.

On a side note I last replaced my M Sports after 4 years maybe 15K miles. They were dry rotted and cracked through the center of the tire. Scary to see that. You really need to replace tires when they get noisy. It's more that just an annoyance.

I've tried Bridgestones, Conti's and MPSS and as much as I hate to admit the MPSS's are the best all around, IMHO. I get better wear, handling and feel with MPSS's than the other two hands down.
