Having trouble finding a warranty for 09 Targa 4S 55k miles
My previous 06 C4S cab was purchased privately, and financed through A+ FCU and they offered a Mercury warranty. I chose a 4 year platinum warranty with no deductible for about $4500 (I think, can't remember exactly).
I have my eye on a targa 4S, and I assumed it would be easy peasy to get a bunch of Fidelity quotes and buy a similar warranty. Not so easy.
USAA will have my loan, and they won't offer a warranty on any Porsche.
Mercury turned me down. They now will only warranty cars that have existing factory warranty.
I called Fidelity direct, and they gave me 5 dealers near me in Austin that could resell the Fidelity warranty services:
Audi North Austin - left a message with the finance department, no call back.
Capitol Kia - finance too busy to quote over the phone, come in to the dealership.
Carmax - clueless about Fidelity.
Chevrolet Auto Nation - couldn't get anyone to answer the phone.
David McDavid Acura - provided quote for $17k, but he would do it at cost for $10k.
Porsche Austin - left message for finance, no call back.
I went back to A+, and they could not find a warranty service available for that car.
Am I out of luck here? Won't someone take my five grand for a warranty?Should I just skip it on a 997.2 PDK targa?

Josh was very nice and helpful, but he could not find a warranty for this vehicle. He can't do pre-2011. A got another dealer quote 2yr platinum $6500.
My warranty really paid off on my 2006 C4S. What should I be worried about on this targa?
My list:
Complicated top mechanism.
Catastrophic PDK failure $17k.
High pressure fuel pump $?
Water pump $?
AC and electronics.
AWD and CV boots.

Steering rack replaced early this year / 22K miles, under (extended) warranty - about $2500 if I'd had to cover it. TPM control module also replaced at the same time - probably about $350 or so.
Windshield washer has leaked out too so that's up next - bad pump, leaky tank, bad gasket - we'll see.
