greasy front rim
Can anyone help out please.
I wash washing my car today and noticed some grease on my wash brush after washing the passenger side front wheel of my '08 c4s cab. I use a very soft bristle brush for the rims only. The bristles are less than 1" in size. While washing behind the front of the rim I brought out the brush to get more soap on it and discovered it was covered in grease.
What would this mean.
I know I have to take it in for this but I would like to know what I'm looking at.
Thanks for any help.

Jack up the corner, remove the wheel, and visually inspect. In the wheel well you have ball joints on the control arms, CV joint to the axle, wheel hub, brake lines, shocks, lower control arm hydraulic bushing, and steering linkages. Most use grease, others use fluid that can be confused with grease if it leaks and mixes with dirt or brake dust.

I experienced this with my 2006 C4S recently. Strangest thing. Ruined my wash mitt. Before I go taking things apart/off, has anyone figured out the origin?

mine ended up being a CV Boot. I noticed this grease on the inside of my front passenger rim. Once at the shop, it was discovered the drivers side had a small tear in the CV Boot as well. It was a no brainer to have both sides, both the inner and outer boots replaced on both sides. Even though the inner boots on booth sides were still good, the cost difference made it an easy decision to have booth ends replaced since the axle was already out. Expensive yes, but now its done.
