IPE Innotech Performance Exhaust Sys.

Anyone have any experience with this exhaust system on the 997.2s? I’ve reached out to a vendor. But I’m looking for personal experience with this particular exhaust. Would like some kind of feedback. Thnx guys

Good question, I was considering this exhaust as well. I’m sure you have seen the yellow carrera with ipe on YouTube. I believe that has the headers as well.
Are you considering the full exhaust with headers or without? What sort of pricing did the vendor offer? It’s seems to be $3650 without the headers

Yes the yellow Porsche is what sold me on the exhaust sys. But i was looking for more members to give me some insight on the exhaust sys,but with no response. I'm just going to bite the bullet and order it anyways. I'm going with headers and cat delete back which I was quoted $5245 but because I also ordered HRE rims they gave me a package deal. So ends up $4800 to my door. Super excited can't wait til everything starts trickling in. Still need to order tires and sensors but no hurry spring is a ways off.

thats excellent pricing on the exhaust. Please do post a review and if possible some videos/sound clips as there does not seem to be many forum members running the IPE on 997.2 carreras.

5 years ago I almost went down the IPE path myself on my .1, but just when I was getting ready to pull the trigger, a Fabspeed Valvetronic setup (NLA) became available along with the headers, and I bought that one instead since they were a known entity with a reputation for excellent quality - the used Fabspeed was about the same price as the new Innotech. I'm very pleased with my current setup but excited to follow along here to see how you make out - should be wicked sounding at high RPM.

Here's a drive by sound clip of mine

I need to shoot another video with high rpm acceleration going through a couple gears

Petza914 I actually looked at the fabspeed also n just decided with the IPE instead. Although it’s 2 months out and with my schedule prolly another month tearing car down and installing new exhaust. Then getting the tuning uploaded tires and rims,I’m shooting for spring time or earlier. But I’ll definitely post updates as they happen. And thnx for the video looks/sounds good.

I have not heard the ipe in person on any 997 but I have heard it on the 991.1 turbo and gt3. Both were full f1 exhaust with headers. They are very loud. If you do catless headers there is some drone in the cabin so might want to keep that in mind if you do a lot of highway cruising.

This is one example on the 991 (plenty more on YouTube)

Do use a good set of headphones to listen to them but it still won’t be as accurate as hearing them in real life.

Wow, sounds like an uncaged animal in sport mode - in regular mode, I think it sounds really good, but I'm not sure I like the buzzing sound or reverberation I hear in the higher RPMs in the video as the car takes off in sport mode. I was listening to it through high-end speakers, so I don't think it was the speakers being outside their capability range - could just be the video or maybe the mic used was outside it's limits. Either way, it will be interesting to get some real world feedback from an actual owner.

The exhaust sys is here, but surprisingly it didnt come with install instructions or a material list. And after trying to inventory everything looks like i may be missing the exhaust clamps that connect the mufflers to the "X" pipe. Have already contacted IPE and where i purchased them from to try and get the literature. So hopefully i get something because the kit also came with 2 small plates with a hole in the center and im not sure what these are for. Any ways here are a couple photos. Hopefully ill have some time in the next few weeks to get this installed.

Not really sure what these go to, i looked to see if they go where the valves are located but they are welded in place. Maybe something for the valve linkage?

They almost look like alignment shims. Maybe included just in case things don't line up perfectly and you have to tweak the position of something, but still need to be able to tighten it down against something, though the only place I could think you could use something like this without it creating an exhaust leak would be a muffler hanger bracket, where you shim the mounting of the bracket.

wow that exhaust looks sexy enough to hang it on a wall. congrats on the purchase.
We will be waiting for the sound clips. Will you be doing a before/after dyno by any chance?
Is your car pdk or manual?

Thanks, as far as the Dyno. No I won't be doing a Dyno before/after. I probably would if I were to install turbos or SC but not for an exhaust system. And my 911 has the manual trans. To each his own but I couldn't drive an automatic transmission sports car, even if it was the gt3rs. I'm also going to be getting a tune to go with the exhaust.
