CPO Question
Hi All,
We have a 2015 Carrera S Coupe with about 6500 miles. The factory warranty will end on 1/2019. Is it possible to get the car CPO'd and continue with the factory warranty or is advisable to just buy an aftermarket warranty. Any Idea on costs?
Thanks

I should expand on this a bit here. I said doing this through the dealer is probably mostly paperwork related. I believe the reason they have to buy the car back from you is to ensure it's up to CPO standards before they sell it back to you with CPO coverage so an inspection will be involved and possibly some repairs. Most likely wear and tear items like tires and brakes as long as everything else is in condition required for CPO certification. I don't believe they look to make a profit on the sale back to you. If they do I would consider moving on and get an after market policy instead. Porsche charges good money for their CPO coverage so between the inspection, any repairs/service required and the cost of the policy itself, that ought to be enough imo. All that said, compare the two options for sure.

You might be better served to look into a Fidelity Platinum extended warranty. Any dealership that sells Fidelity warranties can sell a warranty to you. I bought the one for my 997.2, which I purchased 1 year old from a private party, from a Chevrolet dealership. They sold it for about 50% of what the local Porsche dealer wanted to charge me.

If you decide to go the Fidelity route, Mike at Mossymotors seems to have pricing that's hard to beat. mjourdan@mossymotors.com
That's where I got mine after a fair amount of research. Almost 50% less than what my Porsche dealer asked for the exact same platinum policy.
