Cabriolet vs coupe engine mounts?

Hi everyone,

Looking to buy semi solid engine mounts and all aftermarket producers market one product # for 996 and 997 and 997.2

but.,. I noticed Porsche OEM has a different part # for Cabriolet/Targa and Coupes.

Anyone know why?

I have a 997.2 cabriolet.

any guesses? I was hoping to order tomorrow.

By solid you mean not hydraulically dampened? Any idea why?

Anyone? Any insight is appreciated as I want to buy semi solid mounts but they are one size fits all.

Coming upon this question now...

I replaced mine with Porsche originals. Was seriously considering semi solid, but the thought of more vibration like everybody that did the switch claimed to have after SS mounts, worried me enough to go with Porsche ones.

My take is that I do not track, therefore do not drive on absolutely perfect tarmac. The road vibrations, from potholes, cracks and tons of imperfections from my regular streets have to be absorbed by something, otherwise the hits are taken by something else that was most likely not designed to take that abuse. Sooner or later, something has to give, hence why the mounts are replaceable.
