Bumper slightly lighter in color...

Saw my buddies silver C2S and noticed the rear bumper was slightly lighter in color from the rear fenders. I know paint on the bumpers is a little different but this was pretty noticable. Anyone else noticed this on new AS 997's??

yeah definitely,
my front and rear bumpers were different colors from each other and rest of the car.
I heard the bumpers are painted in a different site. I could be wrong though.
some colors are more noticeable than others. mine is arctic silver

there are definitely variations, some are closer in color than others. if you look closely you can see differences from one arctic silver car to another.
i dont think the bumpers and cars are painted together, this leads to subtle differences.

Or maybe it's because the bumpers (urethane) are of different material than the body (steel)? They have different absorption properties.

That's my understanding, it's not so much painted at different times/sites but inherent to the bumper material. Vettes and camaros are notorious for this, they even fade and oxidize at a different rate than the rest of the car.

The formulations for the non-metal parts are quite different from the regular metal parts. It should match.
