Angry Brakes are Squealing like a City Bus!!!

My 07S developed a low speed (30mph-2mph) brake squeal at about 1200 miles (currently@ 2200) and I've tried everything from repeated hard 80-20 stops, flushing out the brakes (when cold of course) etc etc but the squeal remains. Has anyone here had any luck getting the dealership to fix the problem and if so exactly what did they do? A guy on Renntech had the same problem with his 074S and his dealership put anti squeal paste behind the pads and so far, the squeal is gone, but that was just two days ago. It's pretty bad when your $90,000.00 car comes to a stop squealing like a city bus. I'd really appreciate any help here and thanks

I'd check your pads for any foreign objects. Can you isolate which brake?

Sounds like the fronts. How hard is it to remove the pads? Thanks

Haha we should link forums... I double post sometimes between here and rennlist...

Anyway its not hard but does take some time and effort. Its a new car just politely tell the dealer that you would like the pads inspected for foreign debris. If they are snooty about it tell them you will take your business elsewhere.

Hell I just got back from a track event at Thunderhill my dealer sponsored! Actually going there tomorrow morning for a free checkup - brakes, tires, alignment, etc... This is Porsche of Fremont in n.california.

Yes, it seems that some here, aren't over there and visa versa.
Great suggestion to have them check for debris, thanks. I'm in S Fl and for the most part the dealership has been quite good but they really pissed me off this time!

The advantage that you have with the Porsche is when you take it to the dealer they will fix the problem. If it was a Ferrari they would say "oh, they all make that noise...that's how the brakes are suppose to sound".

Unfortunatley as of this week my dealer has told me some 997's make the noise and some don't, and Porsche doesn't cover it...
I am not giving up and will be visitng them again next week...

If they squal, it means they are working . I have run aggresive pads on all of my Porsches for the last 12 years. I don't remember them not squealing. It does not even bother me anymore and my wife is totally used to it. People look at me funny on the road.

If I was running anything other than stock pads and or aggressive pads I wouldn't complain either but my squeal is getting ridiculous

I had same issue on my C2S, but it happened after 1 year and 5000kms. Dealer fixed it, gave me a loan car (Cayenne) for the day and even washed mine!

I think is normal...after using your brakes very very hard that noise is because of the heat......
When I had my Brembo Gran Turismo in my M3 after hard driving they make that noise.....

I was never using the brakes hard prior to this noise starting.

In my case, they claimed to have removed the pads and "checked the alignment".. I suppose that meant the disks. I mentioned that when I clean the calipers I used a high pressure sprayer and they said it wasn't a good idea. In any case, the squeal I had was quite loud but only when I applied the brake. I'm not sure what the exact fix was, only that the OPC fixed it.
