Tire Pressure reading off..

the electronic tire pressure reading is reporting about -2 pounds off from a manual check. Any suggestions to fix this?

My fix .. take em off and put them in a cupboard. Mine kept going all over the place until I finally ditched them.

Do you know that your hand-held unit is perfectly accurate? It could be the sensors that are correct. I don't use the sensors except to note change in pressure. Everything is relative. I still use my trusty old cheapo hand held tire pressure guage and release valve...

On the few cars I have had with the TPMS, they have never been 100% accurate. I use a snap-on air pressure gauge and have also taken the pressure with another pressure gauge at the same time and they both give the exact same reading of pressure. The TPMS always seems to be 1-4 pounds off.

Grab yourself another manual one for $5 and check with the both, ditch the sensors.

Agree - TPMS is consistently off - I set my tires at 34/40 and TPMS reads 30/36 so I just look for changes before I check with my manual gauge.

The same experience I have also. TPMS shows constantly 5-6 PSI below my pressure gauge.

Agreed - My TPMS is about 4 PSI lower than a pressure gauge. It gets annoying at a track when I'm lowering the PSI, as the warning light remains on.

Got it.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I did not know this was so common. Now I will just use my manual gauge and not worry about the sensors being off. Like you said, good to note sudden pressure changes. I do have two different manual gauges and they read the same.
