Tire black or brown?
Tire black or brown?
This isn't the world's worst problem in the world, but the tires on my C2S look brownish around the rim. I've never used any tire black on them but the dealer did when I first picked it up. Is it normal for tires to turn brownish like that? Is it the tire black that has just aged?
I can put tire black on but I typically don't like to dress up the tires. Normal black is fine with me. But the brown doesn't look very nice.
Thanks all for your thoughts (on such an important issue

i know what you are talking about.
i think it's combination of brake dust.
what you may want to do is get a bucket with clean water and some palmolive detergent and scrub it well. You will get the natural black back.
nothing shiny or anything just back to basic.

I have found that simple green or a orange type cleaner works great to break down the film left by the "tire shine". Spray a good coat of the stuff on, let it set and use a tire brush to make it go away.
Hope this helps.

Weseley's (spelling?) bleach white works wonders for cleaning tires. Then I like to use the spray on "No touch" foaming tire cleaner/dressing, doesnt make them too shiney, just enough to look deep and black.

Thanks all for the advice! I tried cleaning them just when I clean the car, but I never tried a special cleaner or brush. Now I have something to look forward to this evening :-)
