Ding ding ding ding. You are correct my friend. Find me an aftermarket company that gives a warranty on their parts when they are sold second hand.

I think the only BS part is having to rebuy the programming for $1500. The warranty on anything aftermarket that I've ever bought has always ONLY applied to the original purchaser of the item.

I don't know about the $1500 software thing, as I don't know anything about superchargers. But it is actually standard for a warranty on an aftermarket part to only apply to the first owner. Warranties don't go on forever.

not sure why would you expect the second owner having warranty when you didn't. like most aftermarket warranties it's all good till you have a problem. always will try and find some bs reason to deny your claim.

Paris,

Did they ever offer to allow you to return the product since you had so many problems with it?

I wish I did what you do... if you think $13K is cheap. GOD BLESS YOU!!

Well, for example , the RUF compressor costs ~ $25,000
that makes $ 13 k cheap. Lol

Quote: Guys it would make perfect sense that aftermarket parts do not have transferable warranties even more so with new installers now handling the parts again; who knows what can happen during an un-install and then a re-install on another car, shiping from the previous owner, ect?
I don't know sounds like to many cooks in the kitchen to me!
Exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself.

While I'm not surprised they would not extend a warranty to a second owner, I am very surprised that they did not offer some sort of return/trade-in/refund for compensation. From your previous posts, it appears you were fairly patient in trying to resolve the issues with the SC. For tuners, their livelihood depends not only on the quality of their product, but also the service they provide. It seems EVOMS could be criticized for lacking both.

How many of these parts did you buy directly from Evo? Can you go down the list and note where you purchased all of these parts?

so if you buy a car with 10000 miles only 1 year old but it had 6 diffrent owners should the warranty not be valid? i just think companies should back their product up.for example my fabspeed cats went bad,i called jay at fabspeed and within two days i got new ones instaled at no cost to me....now thats costumer service.......i have an evo sc and i love it always speak great things about it. but at a minimum i think evo should take it,inspect it and if there is no damage due to bad install extend the warranty specialy being that its a fellow six speeder who is going to buy it.

You are so right! That's why I will not buy the SC from evo, we all read the old post saw what Nate Mirand wrote. He know the problem, just don't want to back it up. I smell...

Paris's posts are starting to border on fullblown vendor bashing. It's not entirely clear if EVO's did anything wrong with paris or if it was the reseller Paris purchased from? It's surely not industry standard for after market equipment to carry transferable warranties so why even mention it?
