997 Parking lights and Fog lights

I am looking for xenon-matched parking lights (when you turn the headlight knob to the right once before the xenons turn on) as well as fog lights (when you pull the headlight knob toward you). I know Hoen has them I'm just not sure of the style or part numbers. Any assistance would be appreciated...

Just send off an email to Andreas at info@hoen-usa.com. He'll know precisely what blubs you need and provide great service.

I just ordered a set of Hoen bulbs for the fogs.

Hoen had a complete appearance package for the 997 that I can't find anymore, but when I installed the parking lights the instrument computer keeps warning me that the bulbs are out or needs to be replace. It looked good though, but the error message drove me nuts so I took it out. A week later, I was on the 997 Turbo board, a member's turn signal housing/assembly was burned due to the heat. Check post #40 here for the picture. So I'm glad I took mine out. I still like to match it though, PIAA would run cooler and it would work, but need to chase down the part number for that. PIAA worked great on my Benz.

W5W used by those guys was not designed for that application, its for headlights not signal lamps hence the melting. Plus they burn at 100 degrees they say which is indeed hotter than stock bulbs. I would not run them in the 997 because Hoen state not to run hotter bulbs on any Porsche model.

I've used the hoen bulbs for a while now with fantastic results in the fogs, no problems. Just dont install higher watt ones and your good to go.

I've got Hoen bulbs throughout my 997S including rear license plate lights. I've experienced no problems of any kind. They glow 'white' light' matching the color of the Xenon headlights.

You guys didn't get no on dash computer error messages?

Not a single one message appeared. I thought bulb messages appear when a bulb is burned out (ie. open circuit). I've had Hoen bulbs in for close to 6 months and they continue to perform perfectly.

I can only suppose that possibly the wrong type bulb was installed; hence the message.

I had a guy behind me in traffic driving an E36 M3 the other night and it was extremely irritating because he had put high-intensity bulbs in his fog lights. It was like having 4 high beams. There were even people on the other side of the divided highway flashing him (the guy never got the message). If you switch bulbs, make sure you get fogs and not something else...

Thanks for the heads up Ron, that would suck! As is these cars draw a lot of attention...
