Vanquish powered Mustang

don't know this has been posted or not, I did a search and came up with nothing.

a Mustang shop up in Canada transplanted a V-12 out of a AM Vanquish into a '05 Mustang shell. They have video on their site as well as some pics of how it all came together

any word on power numbers?

Scuderia-f430 01-01-2008 05:34 PM

Now thats stupid lol

Interesting project. The V12 in the Vanquish is essentially two 3.0L Duratec V6's joined together. Kinda reminds me of the Gallardo/Mustang hybrid car thingy that got posted awhile back.

stock numbers for Vanquish in erms of HP and TQ. The engine itself was once an engineering mule so it needed a bit of work. When it showed at SEMA for the 1st time, it was actually running. I think it was all ECU problems, I got to find my 5.0 Mustang magazine that did an article on it

There used to be an FMC Aston mule running around Dearborn with a Mustang body...

HotRodGuy 01-02-2008 05:26 PM

That's pretty pimp, props to them for stepping outside the box :)

Car_Collector 01-02-2008 06:43 PM

Thats actaully kinda cool. Probably a good amount more than 520hp. Its an 04 engine though I thought they had less hp?

was it a stock engine? from the thread you linked it sounded like they did a bit more than just throw a stock engine in place...

Aston Martin Vanquish V12
Stroked to 6.1L, JE Pistons, Eagle Rods
WMS Custom 6-2-1 hedders
WMS Ported heads and intake
Accufab TBs, WMS Velocity intakes
ARP Engine Fasteners
WMS / SDS Engine management

The 04 version of this engine is rated at 520hp but we think we can do better than that. We have spent considerable time on head work with 48 valves to do! The crank is being ground for added stroke and we are using stronger Eagle rods with custom JE pistons for more compression.

that's what I thought too, but the other board I got it from said stockish numbers

I remember seeing it at SEMA in '06. I thought to myself, "what is so special about a blue Mustang with big 3-pc wheels?" My jaw dropped when I realized it had a V12. It says the engine is stroked to 6.1 litres. It would be fun to see that engine in the car that came with it. :D

I saw this almost a year ago for my first time. Really insane swap, one of the coolest ones so far IMO
