Some pix of my '05 CTS-V
I just bought an '05 Cayenne Turbo so the Caddy will be going up for sale in the next month or so. I may beg my wife to have one last summer with it. Such a great car and will be missed. Some pix and vids:
Dyno run (pretty rich tune): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BG47BZo1d6s Lapping day (running 2lbs less boost than dyno above): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8aLmCnFsJ8 Drags (12.4@119mph): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKKznjZThLY http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...TS-V/sm015.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...69/CTS-V/4.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...0Auto-X/V3.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...-V/Vracing.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...no04-12-08.jpg |
Sorry, the drag time was 12.4@117mph. My best trap that day was 119mph but only netted me a 12.6 elapsed. This is an 11-sec car with a 12-sec rear end. No DR's and no clutch drops allowed or the rear will go BOOM!

a true brute in a suit!

Very nice! These cars are growing on me.

Wow, nice car! Definitely a shame to have to sell it. Perhaps one of the Gen 2 CTS-Vs is in your future?

Looks nice!

Nice. I love the Caddy CTS

how much you looking to sell the thing for?

They make upgraded axles and bushings to solve that. My buddy has one with 50 less horsepower then you running high 11's @ 115+.
I'm assuming you mean stronger 1/2 shafts? As far as the bushings, it helps reduce wheel hop a little but isn't the cure for a weak rear end. I actually have a "KARS" anti-wheelhop kit on the car. Steel bushings and a couple welded braces which is essentially the best kit out there so far. There are only a couple shops making an IRS rear setup with a stronger diff. Great kits (Madman in Arizona) but cost almost $10k. You gotta pay to play. I could probably go out to the track and do multiple 5000 rpm drops b/f getting into trouble. But that's not really what this car was designed to do. It likes the twisty stuff :) BTW, I'd love to see a time slip of that run. What track? Very, very few CTSVs are running in the 11's over on the Caddy forums. |
Nice car;)

It was at Acto in NJ. If I recall the slip was like an 11.9 @ 115.2. 60' was a 1.8ish. He was powershifting as well. I remember the run because I barely beat him.:D

1.8 60'?? Was he running DRs or slicks? My best 60' is a 2.0. Any more throttle and the tires just go up in smoke. Same goes for 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear. The extra stiff rear springs I'm running for lapping days doesn't help with launches at all...no squat.
