thinking on buying an 05-06 gto

looking at a used 06 supercharged GTO low milage for daily driver and maybe some track days - race track not drag.
the other choices are suped up mini cooper s or and M3 in the price range of 19k - 23k (m3 may be more $$$ i know). I had 2 minis before and loved them but the gto has amazing power for the money. also i haven't a clue mechanically so all maintenance will be sent out. any thoughts????
all comments will be appreciated.

I had an '06 with twin turbos on a stock LS2 engine. It put down 550 rwhp and drove completely stock until you floored the throttle. One of the best all-around cars I've owned in terms of daily drivability and comfort, performance. For the price they are going for on the used market, they are an excellent value. If you do not like the Pontiac nose, you can order the Monaro/Holden nose from Australia. It is a direct swap, they share the same hood and headlights. I had that done to mine.

You can view my previous GTO on my fquick garage page. It is the orange 2006. www.fquick.com/NineBall

I got a buddy selling a yellow 05....It put down 460whp I believe...built motor, built head, intake, cam, exhaust...professionally tuned...I think it's up for 23k...The car has like 30k miles on it but the all the parts and the built motor and everything have like 5-10k on it I believe...I'm not too sure on all the details but If you want more info I can ask him.

Oh and he took it to the track twice...best run was an 11.9

If you are planning on 17-23k, you can easily afford a C5. 01-02 Z06s are going for 20-23k. If you are not a fan, I would not get one. The GTO has a better interior anyways...

I have not had fun drag racing this car, however with some suspension tweaks it's a blast on the road course / canyons
