That was hard to watch.

So, it was the traction control that kept the wheels from spinning? And it just lets the clutch slip?

Sorry for asking, but I don't do burnouts in the 996, and my Pantera doesn't have any electronic trickery.

Well a new engine for that bad boy is $14k warranty cost, so probably $15-$18k customer pay for a new long block. Clutches arn't so cheap either to install.

At least we know the traction control is working. I would expect this from Mustang owners, not Z06 boys! Classic

Depends on what exactly he burnt up. Who know's. I haft to bet that if he took it to a dealership, they would've had the tech pull the heads to see what damage may have occured after that incident. Its all a process though. The last Z06 we had at our dealership, GM asked for the ECM to be shipped to them, they found nothing, then told the tech to pull the heads and start the Diag. Found scorched cylinder's on 4, 6, and 8. GM authorized a new long block to be installed because they wanted to see themselves what happened once the recieved the old engine. An engineer was involved the whole time during the process since the car had 12k miles on it. Warranty cost for the block was $14k. We've yet to hear an answer on what exactly happened. 3 dealerships around our area installed 2 sets of lifters, and 1 set of valves and didn't correct the problem, when they should've seen how bad the cylinders were.

won't the ECU, TCU tell them how many times the rev limiter was juiced and other things like that? I think he's screwed!
