TT Viper 7.56@191mph on DR's
Winter boredom has set in and I found this video from my run in November 2009 at MIR's Imports vs. Domestics.
Very poor sound quality from a cheap ass video camera. I wouldn't suggest turning the volume up too high. Any suggestions for a better hand held camera? :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPc4k-1ANXI |
I would have sh#t my pants during that pass...........your TT isn't street legal is it?
|
wow....
|
It is street legal by definition(Tagged, Insured, Inspected). I legitimately passed DE State Inspection which is only conducted by DMV every 2 years. It took 3 tries and I had to choke the car down pretty damn good to get it through. The inspection consists of testing the lights, horns, wipers, tail pipe emissions, sound level, and a moving brake test. I'm due to go back through in June and not looking forward to playing that game again.
I do drive it on the street but stay within 30 minutes of home just in case. I consider it streetable, but a far cry from daily driveable. It still has a full factory interior, power brakes, power steering, power windows, locks, etc. I had A/C in the car until last year. When I added 40lbs in additional caging, I removed the A/C components to counter the weight. |
There is not way in hell that car would pass smog in a state like california:D Can't believe you drive that beast on the street!
+ rep -just sayin |
I don't doubt at all that it would fail miserably in California. :D
If Southern Delaware starts OBDII testing, it'll fail here as well. I can get it to pass tail pipe emissions which is the primary hurdle with our current testing regulations. |
Very nice!

Do you think this car would hook well enough on the street to beat a 9.1 @ 169 TT Gallardo?
|
That is just badass, I have always loved the viper, anyone remember that TV show back in the day? ;)

The reason I ask is because I was told that none of the fast RWD drag radial cars with the proper setup with beat the UGR Gallardo that goes 9.1 @ 169.

I can't make any street claims until I try it. My problem is ambition. Between my businesses, kids, and a wife my time is well spoken for. :) To answer your question, if I put forth the effort I know I can get my car in the mid to high 8's on the street and possibly quicker. I have yet to see another Viper accomplish what I have with IRS and Drag Radials in full trim. Every Viper that has ran a 7 second 1/4 to date that are commonly seen on the internet run Drag Slicks and are not able to repeatedly run the number reliably. I have easily 35-40 runs in the 7's and at least 20 in the 7.50's-7.60's. It has taken a lot of time and effort to get this car sorted out to this point and it will take a great deal more time and effort to apply the remaining 16-18psi of boost on a Drag Radial. |
What were you running for boost? C16/Q16?

C16 only so far. Launched with 7psi and ramped it to 20psi.
I'm still amazed how seemingly soft you're coming off the line, yet laying down those crazy numbers! |
