I forgive you!
You gave me an idea that I have never seen before, and I spend a lot of time online looking at cars.
Someone on another forum suggested Matte Black with Scotchlite stripes, the Black in daylight/white reflective at night. That would certainly draw some attention after dark.
3M sells most of the colors in 50ft roll of 1/4 inch up to 4 inch width. If I do stripes it would be pretty easy to put them right over the wrap. I didn't find it in big sheets, what format did you get the red in for you car?

i think the vinyl i have is from a different company than 3m. im not sure which, but i think it comes in one foot widths.

now, here is what i had originally thought of doing, which is where i think you are headed w this. i had wanted to wrap the whole car black before i decided to go with the red interior theme..... but what i had thought as an alternative to all black was a TRON type thing. black wrap with thin black scotchlite around the body lines and such. look normal during the day and sick crazy at night. you can also get rim tape and do sripes on the rims.
people will chase you down to ask you where you got it and what it is. it happens to me all the time.
i hate how this is making me want to redo my car.........

That would be SICK!!!! I already have people who follow me to ask me questions about my car. I can only imagine what kind of attention that would draw.
Even something simple like Black wrap then stripes like the Bathurst edition:

This is my buddies car with the same stripes in Red vinyl:

It's not a Vauxhall, it is an HSV GTS. My friend got it the same way I got my Commodore SSV. Take a Pontiac G8 import the Holden specific parts out of Australia and build one.

Was sitting here surfing for some ideas, how about something like this with Holden Logos? Do the body in black with the pattern in reflective (white), and the top in the reflective orange?

that would be pretty sick. i think that the idea is just to have something insanely unique to where people will just freak out at the sight of it. people take pictures of my cars all the time. ill come out of a gas station and people are standing there with their cell phones out. i love it, and my wife hates it.

Our wives should get together! My wife hates riding in my car!

I like Petty racing and all, but baby blue isn't my color. Not sure about rat rod. I had another idea, but I am keeping it close to the vest.
Lots of ideas flowing.

long as you find the right installer, money is the only hurdle. some vinly guys are artists, some just lay it. find the right guy, even if you have to drive a few thousand miles. make it an expression of yourself, your style. take cues from your wardrobe, your culture. and as poor of an idea as this may seem, try to get your wife involved. she may like riding in your car more if she feels like she had a say in the design? i know i know they will never understand why we do this. why we go outside and stare at our cars for hours thinking of ways to make them more pimp. but we dont really know either so...... but i will say this. i think youre headed the right direction, vinyl is easier, comes in really unique colors and textures, is much cheaper than paint, and if you hate it..... you can peel it off. good luck with this project, and post pics of progress.

Thanks again for your input. Well said! I will be trying to include my wife. I am working on a line drawing of my car. I was thinking of posting the line drawing for people to have access to and have a "contest" for designs. Then my wife and I will choose from those. I have several ideas that I will be putting to paper as well.
Not sure if I mentioned it here, but the cost is negligible, as I will be trading services for the wrap. Someone who has access to wraps and a really good wrapper is looking for the service I do for a living.
I wouldn't spend the money on a wrap at this point if it were coming out of my pocket, I would put my cash towards a Maggie 2300.

Nah! No pink for me! I am leaning towards either matte black with reflective trim, the stuff that looks black in the daylight, but reflects white at night, or the same thing but orange accents, or Stormtrooper!

I vote for matte white with the dark matte ADV5.1s. I don't think your roof line is that great for the stormtrooper look. Keep the whole body solid color.
